Gibbons & Co. are another good quality foundry producing door bolts to letter boxes, door handles to key escutcheons in a variety of materials. They produced and marketed brass door and window fittings, locks, door handles sash locks, curtain rails, carpet rods and a wide variety of fixtures and fittings for both private and public properties throughout the nineteenth century.

W. Tonks & Co. were also another major producer of quality hardware in brass, iron and even gilded items were included in their Brassfoundry catalogues. The ironmongery they were known for includes: Lock furniture, Finger plates, Latches, Drop ring handles, China name plates, number plates, Shutter knobs, Drawer handles , Sash pulleys, Escutcheons, Umbrella pans, Blind bolts, cupboard stays, casement stays, Espagniolette bolts, sash lifts, sash handles, fanlight catches, Showcase catches, polished card frames, brass hat and coat hooks and pins ,letter boxes etc.
Any one of these antique brass fitted to a period property give sense of a bygone age of style and quality unequalled today. They were built to last without the need for constant repair and maintenance and do so still today.
